In Phenomenology of Aesthetic Experience, Mikel Dufrenne (1910-1995) searches for the relationship between the process of creation and the experience of using the work. There are two key concepts: the work of art and the aesthetic object, "the work as perceived". Therefore, in order to exist as a story, the work requires the intervention of a consciousness "which makes the object pass from darkness to light, from the state of thing to the state of perception".
The HomeShutHome project invites a group of artists to design and set up a personal exhibition within the intimate space of their home, in order to reflect on the aesthetic experience of the moment in which the spectator unit is divided, not only in the moment of execution, but also in the moment of fruition, creator of the work of art and aesthetic models.
An exhibition that becomes personal not only as a collection of works by a single artist, but above all in the sense of the product by the person himself without the intervention of others. The public arrives later, when the work of art as an aesthetic object has already been perceived and therefore the work has already acquired its complete existence.
